We offer care for children from 2-6 years in a mixed-age group (12 children), which should be balanced in the composition of age and in the ratio of girls to boys. 

New children are always admitted for the new kindergarten year, which begins annually after the summer holidays (on 1 August). The number of children to be admitted depends on the number of outgoing school beginners. 

 We work according to the Berlin educational programme and attach great importance to regular discussions with parents about the children's state of development. 

 Outside of the childcare hours, the pedagogical team meets in our rooms for team meetings and supervision. 
 
 We are a parent-run day care centre in Charlottenburg. Our small institution does not have the structures and resources to employ a cook or have access to a professionally staffed administration, so we rely on the cooperation of parents.

 Joining our kindergarten means taking over the daily tasks that enable the smooth running of the kindergarten. Parents are responsible for pending repairs and maintenance work within the facility, small handicrafts and mending. The pedagogical work is the exclusive responsibility of the teachers!
 
 The parents regularly cook (each family cooks every 3 weeks) a vegetarian meal with fresh salad or fresh raw vegetables for 12 children and regularly participate in the laundry service (pillowcases, towels, kitchen towels).

 Other parent responsibilities include serving on the board (2nd board, treasurer, secretary), the general meeting elects the board. The first Board of Directors is responsible for managing the day-to-day business of the association and represents it in and out of court. It conducts and monitors compliance with the resolutions passed at the general meetings and is responsible for personnel management. The first board takes on organisational and administrative tasks, such as correspondence with the authorities and parents, accounting, concluding care contracts and insurances. The board works on a voluntary basis. Regular meetings are held to discuss the work of the board.

 Only the first board member is the employer of the kindergarten staff.
 
 The general meeting, attendance is compulsory, takes place every year in January, our parents' evenings are held approximately every 3 months.
 
Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. 

 We offer a wholesome, healthy breakfast four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays), on Tuesdays the children bring a lunch box (doesn't have to be vegetarian!) and a drinking bottle (water/tea) in a rucksack.

 The educators cook lunch for the children and colleagues every Tuesday.

Contributions/Costs: A care contract is concluded between the parents and the Kindergarten e.V. for each child. For some external offers in our rooms (early musical education and gymnastic), an additional fee is charged (57€), plus the membership fee (10€) and the lunch fee (23€), the total cost is 90€ per month. Additional costs are incurred for shopping for cooking every three weeks.

 For admission to our kindergarten, a full-day kindergarten voucher (care for 7-9 hours) is required, which you should apply for at the responsible youth welfare office.
